Drive shaft length change

I was just trying to figure out my front driveshaft set up.
As the driveshafts are different lengths, and the suspension arm are the same, I am guessing that the drive shafts need to be able to extend and compress a little.
Can anyone guesstimate by how much the length can change with hard driving, and where that change has been designed in? What I mean is, from what I can see, the outer CV joint is fixed laterally, the inner pot joint is fixed to the output drive on the gearbox, so is the extension just from the greased spline on the driveshaft sliding in and out of the outer part of the pot joint?

Cheers
Ed

The length changes by approx 3/4", a little less on the RH side as that's a longer shaft. That's from full compression to full droop of the suspension.

That change of length is taken up in the Inboard CV, they are designed and made so that the inner spider can slide in and out as well as change angle.

Nice one, that is majorly helpful in more ways than you can guess. Many thanks.
