Biggest crank endfloat ever?

A mate asked me to check the endfloat on a cooper s engine hes assembling, with my +3 thou thrusts in the endfloat was 35 thou..
+5's and a sliver of homemade spacer was what we took out.
Has anyone got the dimensions of the centre web or the distance between the crank faces so I can see whats out of whack? I'm naturally assuming something is worn. :?:

Its a 312 thin flange block, struggled to find any marking on the crank apart from an aeg 479 punch marks on one web where, it looked like an original casting had number had been filed off.

You need a set of +30 thrust then surface grind them to get correct end float .

We have to do it all the time , it's the Joy's of engine building with 50+ years old stuff . :D

The crank has been machined to suit a 1300 block or is a 1300 crank by the sound of it

Many thanks.for the reply, I had that ticked as an option but wasn't sure if the whole lot had been mangled by some bodge artist, nothing looked out of place apart from the home made shims and the subsequent reading.!

Ah yes. You had to put the standard thrust washer on the flywheel end and the fat one the other side.

I, of course, got that wrong. Within 1000 miles you could hardly engage any gears.
