Well common sense has prevailed and spectators can enjoy the Gold Cup this year. Not seen an entry list yet but quite a few Minis entered and a Hornet.

Tickets must be bought in advance and I can’t get anything at all on email or phone out of MSV as regards a group/club gathering so I assume there won’t be clubs despite what it says on the website. Dunno. However be nice to maybe gather on the inside at Lodge / camping area near the bridge where I always usually park if anyone fancies it. Two pre ‘66 saloon races on the Monday.

Is it right that there is no paddock access for punters?

Currently there isn’t. Pretty stupid really cos it never gets busy in there really.

There was no paddock access at Snetterton last weekend.

Think there still a bit wary of covid .

They should be wary of COVID but walking around in the fresh air at Oulton isn’t the problem I don’t think and the closed paddock is more a gesture by the organisers I think to placate the authorities but at least it allow spectators any entry at all. I think this might change pretty soon though from what I hear.

Well MSV got back to me about Oulton eventually and far too late but with ten free tickets in the offing for Monday but no explanation of how the hell to get them!

If I get more info I’ll offer them here ASAP.

OK I’ve now sussed out how to get tickets for any forum members who’d like to attend in their Mini. All you have to do is message me your full name , address, email address and registration number of your Mini and I’ll do the rest! But be quick! . (Pretty sure I can email tickets though)

Thanks for the messages, MSV only sent a confirmation on Tuesday after weeks of waiting and now the Display car upload page isn’t working. I’m still trying to get these tickets but they’re making life very difficult. .

OK so MSV, despite offering tickets have given me no method to access them despite numerous calls and emails for weeks. Sorry folks, anyone wanting to attend on Monday will need to buy a ticket on the MSV website before 4pm today.

Well Monday was very enjoyable, Richard Casey being the main contender for a podium in his newly built Class D car but just couldn’t find a way past those pesky Cortinas and had to be content with two class wins! Not too shabby for a first time out. Nice to see a good few faces off here around the paddock and the infield. Won’t go down as a classic but lucky we got the event at all this year really so should be thankful. A few snaps...
