After the rough Acropolis, it was probably a new car for the 1000 Lakes.
A new car for the Coupe des Alpes in Sep 66 because the Baxter Monte car from January was not likely to have been sitting in a corner gathering dust all that time. The suspicion arose during early investigation of original GRX309D that original GRX195D might be the number plateless car photographed "destruction testing" at Strata Florida with new 4 across lamp bar and no evidence of ever having arch extensions fitted. If not, recce use was surely its fate.

Some more pics of GRX 195D, taken mid/late '80's at the Cumbria Classic Car Show when it was owned by Gerry Braithwaite (can't recall exactly when I took them).

Fortes Excelsior Hotel (base for RAC and Gulf too then)
Quite convenient for Baxter? He lived in Colnbrook at one time although may have moved by then.

Re: GRX 195D
In the pictures with the nice gold Minilite's fitted with what probably is 145's SP44's
What could be the width of those wheels, perhaps 5,5" or?

Re: GRX 195D
They painted 5.5s gold to distinguish them from 4.5s. Used for racing tyres not SP44s.
Like so many "ex works" cars (or number plates...) today I just don't get the idea of having a car in a format that doesn't accurately reflect its past. (See GRX55D)

Yes I am a nerd: I am researching the Austrian Mini-racing scene of the 60s and 70s

Re: GRX 195D
I borrowed this one from Gerry a couple of times for MCR stands I did in the early 90s, what a cracking car and refreshingly no bullshit story with it. Such a shame it went overseas.
