Now owned by Alistair Vines who has used it on several historic events including the 1989 Pirelli Classic Marathon when it was part of the Mini team of 3 cars, one of which was Paddy H. in 6EMO, an Alec Poole built works replica. I had the other Cooper 'S' in the team, UXD725G.

Are we sure about the last picture ?
Clearly its a clubman front end.
But I reckon theres a leading number before the 89. There seem to be two rivet holes for a 1, 2, 3 etc, though possibly not a 7.

A much slimmer me with Alistair in the early 90s, guessing 1994.
I bought the full ended front panel that he didn't use for the restoration in the end, now on my 1071S.

Does it matter if CRX 89B spent some time on a clubman before it was re invented in the late 80's ? I t doesn't make it much different to many of the other cars does it. The stories about the cars that currently wear the famous registrations, and how they came together are interesting to hear anyway. I just wish that they were openly shared.
