Tulip Apr 63. Hopkirk/Liddon. Group3. 2nd O/A.

Coupe des Alpes Jun 63. McCluggage/Sears. Retd.

Sold to S. Turner

Even without reading what “worksminis” and “orangebox” have posted on 407ARX and 977ARX, anyone reading the date of first registration of 17CRX in Dec 62 in Browning's book and the date of its first rally above may smell a rat. Consensus is that the new 17CRX carried the reg number 407ARX on the 63 Monte Carlo Rally.

If the same S. Turner, are we to assume he had been having trouble commuting fast enough? - from his original abode in Drayton or his next one in East Hanney

Brian Culcheth's recent biography says he and Logan Morrison used 17CRX as recce car for the 63 Monte. More number plate swapping?

There is a photo in MN of what is clearly the 62 RAC 407ARX on the 63 Monte Reece with 17CRX plates ;) ;)
