Smiths rvi1003/00

I am trying to connect up the rev counter I have in stock. It is a smiths RVI1003/00 on negative earth. Looking through the wiring diagrams on Marks other website I have sorted:
Green cable to The feed (a4 on the fuses)
Black cable to the earth terminal
Red/white to light in rev counter
The question the impulse lead is quite meaty compared to the white wire in the auto sparks loom. Do I
A/ remove the existing impulse cable (blue and red) and reroute the wire cable provided in the loom or
B/ not my first option but bullet connect the existing impulse wire and do the same with the white loom wires provided?
Is there any issue with removing the existing impulse cable and replacing with the white looped loom cable?
Also there does not seem to be a location where I can connect the earth for the casing to? Do I need to piggy back the earth connections provide for the oil temp and temp gauges?
Thanks in advance
