I'm going to pressure test the displacers I plan to fit to HOY and after many many years of the Dalek's pressure gauge (and vacuum system come to that) not working, it's time to be fix it.

The pipe had obviously broke at some point and the outlet from the pump body had been capped. It doesn't look too difficult to sort out a new pipe with a few parts.

Looking at the gauge though, the needle is on the 'wrong' side of the Zero stop. Before I take the chrome rim off and move the needle past the stop, am I right to do this or does the vacuumisation of the system draw the needle back round to zero ?

On my Dalek the needle on the pressure side sits "above" the stop as you would expect, not under the stop like yours.
A quick google of "hydrolastic pump gauge" shows the needle sitting above the stop as well.
Unfortunately the vacuum side on my unit doesn't work either, I do need to strip it one day and work out what is happening.

I know you have probably already found them, but there are some great topics relating to Dalek rebuilds on this forum...

I don't know where you are in the UK but I would suggest you take your units or post them to Ian kennedy in Telford. He can test them and fix them if necessary. He did 6 of mine at I think £84 each, including new hoses, testing. He also replaced some badly rusted parts of the steel shrouds.

Did you sort out the subframe locking plate problems ?

That's useful to know Whistler and sounds like a fair price to me. I'll bear it in mind

No problems. I did find a supplier for gauges that looked very good, they weren't identical, but looked pretty close. I'll see if I can dig them out...

Not sorted the locking plate problems yet. I am considering "adjusting" them myself - think reverse of converting wet to dry!

I've checked out my ratty subframes of HOY and nothing is saveable, even the locking plates !!
