Lcb Y piece

The Y piece seems to come off the lcb parallel to the tunnel but too far over to the o/s and so comes very close to the main cable.
I’ve got the direct wand change adaption set up which the Y piece nicely clears.
Anyone has theirs issue? I’d be far happier if it was more central in the tunnel and it made me wonder if there are different offset Y pieces available?

There are multiple brands all with different jigs so a fair amount of variation I would image.

I've mostly used Maniflow and Fletcher LCBs the last few years. The pipe does bias to the off side as the link pipe needs to be able to make it's way past the gear shift linkage. If there were multiple offset Y pieces available there would also need to be multiple link pipes all bent differently to suit so unlikely to be an option.

I have fitted a few where the Y was too close to the trans tunnel where it steps down from two to one pipe. To get around this I take an inch or so off the end of the two down pipes to allow the Y to slide on further forward which does the job. Maybe something along these lines might help you?

Such a coomon problem way back in the day get a phone call from a mini owner " my mini has no power zilch tried jump starting it nothing dead"

Have you fitted an LCB was the the first question to ask and reply was nearly always yes, and sure enough the Y section had burned right through the battery cable

Common bodge was to move the cable over to the brake pipe securing clips

Yes this was my concern. I’ll see if there’s any scope for relocating the cable as well as trimming the lcb
