Should have mentioned that the build date was early December 1965.

According to Somerford Mini site, there is a early and a later type.
There is no change over date between the two and just says fitted from 59-80.
I've just brought this for my 62 from mini sport in aus.
Might be the wrong one, i'm not sure.

My April 68 does not. So, right around the time they went from Mk1 to Mk2 seems fitting.

Yep, no mention in Dr Parnells book. Must be a mk2 thing.
Took the early one to the blasters so decision made.
Cheers

The 64 date was the change to the sensor - ring type as opposed to screws type fitting wasn't it?
My Nov 64 has an original loom that facilitates the fitting of either type, which always seemed rather late to me?
