Jamie’s 1965 1330
Long term classic Mini fan, and yesterday this arrived:
It’s in great condition, having recently undergone some restoration work by the previous owner. Freshly built 1330 engine, new Almond Green paint, disc brakes, and a whole host more.
One of the most straight forward and simple car purchases I’ve ever made, and the seller was an pleasure to deal with. Got to love classic Minis .
In terms of plans, I’ve got a couple of minor things to sort, but really it’ll just be using, and enjoying. I’ll keep this thread updated with progress. The best thing of all though is that there is nothing major to do, so hopefully a lot of the updates will be posting pictures of it out and about.

Fitted a new choke cable (very kindly provided by the seller), and then a quick wash over yesterday.

I saw you were in Edinburgh and did a double take if it was my old Mk1.
Looks good! (but if Rich was here he'd point out your door cards are in upside down )

Be good to get the door cards sorted, hope what is down in the pocket side is in fine fettle?
Great little motor and lots of fun to be had with it I'm sure - a real mini that has been tweaked is what it was all about in my day

Recently had a lot of work, and in really nice condition. It’s great fun, and will be a long term keeper for me.

What a great little car. All there, but just enough "to do" to keep you occupied.
What a great purchase.

Re: Jamie’s 1965 1330
Thank you. That was the plan when I was looking - find one in good condition that I can use and enjoy, but will need some tinkering too. I had a pickup prior to this, which was fixable, but a major project. I realised I just wasn’t going to be able to get it back together and on the road in a sensible timeframe, so it was sold to make way for the mk1. Couple of other cars keeping it company in the garage too.

Not even a week into ownership, but I absolutely love this wee machine.

Windscreen wipers stopped working out the blue yesterday, so a job for this weekend. Sounds like they are still trying to move, so presumably not electrical.

Re: Jamie’s 1965 1330
What a great little Mk1! I do like Almond Green, if it was a colour option for my Inno I would have painted it that shade.
As for the wipers, if you think the motor is still going but the arm aren't moving I would look at the splines on the arms. Could be that they're worn out (though seems unlikely both would wear out simultaneously), could also be the gear in the motor, or the circlip that connects the spiral to the gear... Good luck!

Of course I know what a dipstick is, you get called something often enough you look it up!
