Does the side carpet below the door glue over the wheel arch carpet, or maybe tuck behind it? Or should one be trimmed so they are flush???

Any original car carpet owners out there who can help please?

I've got 2 original carpet minis..66 and a 67 Mk2..both have the two pieces butted up tight.
One has red and the other black carpet.
