As the same as everybody else in lockdown decided to do some work on the car . Fitted Cooper S discs to my 63 mini along with Minispares 4.5 Cooper S minilite wheels , jeez that’s tight . So out with the angle grinder . Admittedly they are pattern callipers but are they always that tight?

They were like that on my "S" with the original calipers. Don't they include a spacer in the kit?
I did the same as you and ground a little metal off. The calipers, not the wheels

Is that spacers with wheels or with the Disc kit . Originally the car was on 850 drums with 1 inch spacers with the S Minilites already fitted , with the S brakes it’s now a bit narrower. Yes and ground an edge on the caliper ,Seems a bit better .

It is a few years ago now but when I bought my wheels from Minispares I was sure they supplied some spacers with the set. I chose not to use the spacers but it did mean that I had the same issue you have. Having ground a little metal off the calipers I had no further troubles.

Just checking, is this the Minispares brand wheels (C-21A1968) or the genuine Minilite wheels?

This is mine with the Minispares C-21A1968 ET32 wheel and Minisport pattern callipers MS2680KIT.

The inside profile of my rim is stepped as well as the chamfer on the calliper. No spacers were provided or needed with the wheels.

So I’ve got 1 x for no grinding and 2 x for grinding... I’d really like to keep my calipers standard, and wheel spacers aren’t allowed over here - any further feedback from others with the minilife / C-21A1968 wheels and 7.5” calipers?

My (genuine) S callipers and TechDel Minilites are tighter than Timmy's photo... not far off the original shot.

However, after 15 odd years of use there's absolutely no sign that they have ever come together...

The wheels I have fitted are C-21A-1900 4.5S fitment. They are genuine Minilite not Minispares copies !

It is very common to have to remove a small amount of metal from the calliper bleed nipple boss. Though, usually you will get the know it alls saying "dont grind the calliper, its dangerous" The amount of metal removed has no ill effects on the strength of the calliper. A flap wheel in an angle grinder is the easiest way to do it, and it leaves a smooth finish.
Either paint or have the calliper body plated again so it not obvious and the MOT/RWC inspector doesn't have a hissy fit.

I converted a set of metro vented calipers and discs to fit under 10"rims. I was using Minator minilite style rims. Those were close enough when really hot during Castle Coombe blasts to wipe off the brakedust off of the inside of the rim. Never actually wiped the paint off..
