Hi all, hope everyone is keeping well in this madness. Just a quick one....
Is it possible to take out a Front Windscreen without ruining or cutting the Rubber Seal so it can be re-used ?
Cheers. Dicky.

Perfectly possible, but if the rubber is old then chances are it won't seal again very well (that is if it doesn't crack/split)

Cut the original seal... there will be regret If you Bust the Windscreen while trying to save the Seal

I have removed screen a few times without damaging seal, once chrome trim is removed it pushes out quite easy if starting from a corner.

Laminated windscreens are much easier to crack than toughened.....if you put too much pressure in the wrong place.

If your not going to cut the rubber then the best way is to sit between both seats and put your your feet at equal distance apart on the screen and gently push with someone catching it on the other side if need be ..... ken

Yep, I did mine like that many years ago, worked perfect and my nice and fairly new laminated screen came out undamaged. I then bust the bugger trying to put it back in though...

Thanks for the replies.
Reason i asked....The screen i have in now is not very good, full of scratches some quite nasty.
I have another screen to go in, so im not too fussed about the old one.
The Rubber Seal is in really good condition and at least i know it will fit.
May give it a go. Ill keep you updated.
Dicky.

Careful!
I'm ashamed to admit I cracked the original laminated windscreen on my Cooper S while disassembling the car for a restoration. It had been in perfect shape for 50 years, and I ruined it...
