I’ve got to remove some powder coat from a couple of finned alloy rocker covers. Are there any paint removers that will do the trick?

I think a rotor hammer would be your best bet IF the powder coating is
done correctly, the powder coating literally seeps into the open pores of
the metal when it gets hot. My condolences

On my Cosworth arms I softened it with some thinners and scraped - but nowhere near a fiddle as what you've got to sort I'm afraid.Having said that, I have a set of dental scrapers and the corner bits popped out easier to my surprise.

The blowtorch did come out too!!!

Thanks. I was really hoping someone would say “put this stuff on and it peels right off”.

I use mops but I have a polishing machine they may fit on a drill but you need to hold everything secure and wear goggles and mask.

Alloy is the one thing that Powder Coat works really well on.

Apart from the chipped bits! It’s a right pain because they’re quite nicely done.

Starchem Synstryp works if you have the time. Did some parts today but the power coating was very thin.
