hello
I am jeroen from belgium and i purchased a authi mini 1000E of 1969 a couple years ago.
i have now started cleaning up the car . There is not so much rust at al , only the front floorpan on the drivers side will be replaced.
The doors will need a reskin to .
The bootlid is a different story . It is repaired with almost a centimeter of putty. Therfore i removed the skin to work on it from the inside.

The 1000E was a nice car - came with S wheels and brakes as standard as well as Elf style wood dash.
One of the problems is that the leather seats (which are different to a 1275C) seem to suffer very badly in the Spanish climate.

hi there jeroendewil
nice mini... but I am sure you have an AUTHI 1275C and not a 1000E.
there are some hints that explain this:
1.- blinkers at the front wings... the 1000E never had them... only the 1275C
2.- the "dome" at the door bins... only on the 1275C... intended to avoid the seat flipping forward when the door is closed.
3.- the tool bag... the only spanish mini with a tool bag was the 1275C.
4.- the bonet light... only present in the 1275C
if so... you have the most valuable AUTHI nowadays... congratulations!!!!
She deserves a proper restoration... there were no more the 1600 built units.
If you provide me with the shell number and the engine number I can tell you if it is a real 1275C with shell and engine matching numbers

i'am quite sure it is a 1000 E because it is a 1000cc engine with a 12g201 head ( don't know specs about this head)
I also have a 1000 E sign as you see on the picture of the bootlid.
The seats are in very good condition.
I also dont know if te toolbag belongs to this car or purchased afterwords.
it also has the bonnetlight fitted but don't know how it works same on the light in the boot.
Also one side of the dashboard is rotten and i'am looking for one to replace it .
it will for now only be a temporary restoration to prevent further rust .
I'am still studying at the university so i can't effort a complete restoration yet.
Decarcer you have pm

jeroendewil,
The bonet badge, very difficult to find, was common in both cars, the 1000C and the 1275C.
The boot lid was as well common to both cars, and the 1000E badge does not mean is a 1000E, but just a 1275C in wich the bootlid had been replaced using a second hand one from a 1000E....
The engine might be a 1000cc, but this does not necesarily means that the car is a 1000e. The engine could be replaced in those 40 years of life... indeed, this was quite common here in Spain.
This is why, if you provide me with the engine number and shell number, I can tell you more about the car.
More detalis about a 1275C... the lids for the rear bins.... this was a very particuar feature of the 1275C. None of the other AUTHIs had them.
The boot light was operated from a little swich, located in front of the petrol tank. Post a general picture of the boot and I will tell you if the swich bracket is there or not.
Did not get any PM... try again
Cheers

And the dash seems to be the one for the 1275C... try to post a general pic of the dash... The 1000E dash was also wooden made, but covered the whole width of the dash, and had to little doors at both sides...
The car in plenty of good details... the lifting jack is also the original!!!! quite rare to fond nowadays

uuuppss... and I forgot that the 1275C should have rev counter... It seems you have a 1275C with some bits from a 1000E.... or viceversa...

It looks to be a very interesting project, I am always amazed to see how the differing markets treated the Mini.
Maybe I should lookout for an Authi to leave at our villa ??

That is such a cool car
so many small things, that makes it that bit extra special.
Are the jack & spanner, held in place by brackets to the bootfloor? looks like it in your pic.
