part paint advice...

Hi guys,
I am starting to refurbish parts to put my 65 SDL back together, it is not going to be a concours car, but I would like it to be right where it can.
Most parts will need painting before re assembly. My questions are about paint...
What colour is correct for the majority of black parts? Gloss or satin? (I am talking about things like brake back plate, bulkhead brackets, steering column etc)
Is acrylic aerosol the easiest option? Where from/brand? Halfords? U-Pol?
Do I need to etch prime these parts?
Do I need another primer before top coat?
Most of these parts, where suitable, will be blasted first.
I know I could get them powered coated, but I would prefer to paint them myself.
I have a 3hp compressor, so could buy a spray gun. But I have never done this before, worth it over aerosols?
I have already had both subframes blasted, and I have used BiltHamber Electrox and Epoxy Black to finish. I may still top coat these for UV protection (although probably not needed)
Any help or advice appreciated.
Cheers,
Rich
