Primary gear

Trying to clean up some crap will stuck at home and found this primary gear. Not sure what is it from due to extend nose. Guess automatic?

It's not Auto - they were different again.
That's from an early 850

Yep, oil fed bush from early 850 and 997 Coopers.....

Early 850. I suppose if you were to change the rear bush in it you could use it on a 997. It is not correct for a 997 as is.

Yeah, forgot, different tail shaft dia.....
I'll have to go check the NOS one I have.......

Just checked mine, it's a 22A 520.....
Looks like the very first Deva bush style......It's for small tail shaft, and, I believe it was part of the conversion kit to modify early small tailshaft wet primary gear/crankshafts to dry.....

No numbers on these gears, mine was written on a piece of tape that was still readable....
Your gear is 22A 79, earliest gear for small tail wet primary gear cranks.......
The gear I have would be a Service Replacement with a couple of plugs (to plug the holes in the crank), as a "Fix" for the leaky wet style gears that leaked oil all over the clutch......
