Magic wand installed height

Hi all,
I think I’ve got something slightly off somewhere, I was wondering if someone could measure the height of the top of the gear knob to the top of the tunnel on the floor in 1st and 2nd gear. Mine looks to be much lower than other cars I’ve seen
Mine is 32cm in 1st gear
22cm in 2nd gear
Thanks!

39 cm in first and 26 in second - but this was the car I had the trouble selecting 2 4 and R so I made an adjustable / shortened steady bar.
Is it possible the knuckle joints over your diff were assembled 1 spline out (if they've been apart) making the stick too low in up / down plane ?

Thanks, that does sound like mine is bit low.
I did find out the male part of the knuckle on the gearbox shift rod was on upside down. I tried pulling it off to flip it, but couldn't get it off the shaft. I need to see if I have a spare one in the garage to see if it's a different angle if it's on upside down

Thinking about it, the knuckle pinch bolt goes through a tangential slot in the shaft so, apart from upside down, it would be difficult to get them wrong.

I managed to dig out the spare knuckles and lined one up the right way and one up the way I’ve got it. When they are lined up the best with the pinch bolt hole there is a significant difference in the angle. I guess this would be enough to cause a big difference at the gear knob end
