See as MSUK have released some guidelines for a potential return to motorsport:
https://www.autosport.com/national/news ... ort-return
Inevitably we’ll not see any rallies for quite some time, due to risks associated with car sharing by competitors, marshals, etc., but it’s a start

Re: All Motorsport canceled until at least 30th of June
To be honest I believe that ALL sporting events should have been suspended for all of 2020 to limit risk to all participants, not just the competitors. Radical I know, but safety is the number 1 priority for all sporting events even before the Coronavirus pandemic.
I appreciate the financial implications for all concerned and clubs but events need to be organised in advance as they do not just happen on the day.
It is a very difficult time which I don't think a lot of us thought we would ever experience.
Personally, I'm looking forward to 2021 which should prove to be a good year for events.
Take car everyone!

Re: All Motorsport canceled until at least 30th of June
I respectfully disagree and think that everyone has a right to their opinion. Last weekend we had the first race of any kind in California since Covid. Not just the first vintage race. Since we are alone in our cars that was not an issue. This was not a spectator event you had to be on a pit crew list to enter the venue. We pitted a long way from each other and were required to wear masks when leaving our own pit. Tech and registration was completed one at a time with masks and social distancing. No group BBQ on Saturday night. The drivers meetings were done over the PA with everyone in their own pits. We all practiced social distancing and washed our hands often and wore masks. The local Sherif inspected the site both days and the LA Times was out there as well. Finally, there were constant reminders to follow the rules set out in our protocol that the county signed off on with our club. It was definitely a smaller group but I felt good about it and it sure was nice to get out of the house for the first time in two months. Copy and paste the addresses below. My car is the #17 red mini.

Some conflicting opinions there, both of which I fully respect. As far as our Borders Rally is concerned though, we’re still looking at any ways it can be run safely, which includes a Tests only type event run during the day. We also have a number of different venues in mind. We’ll have to see how things pan out and of course what MSUK are prepared to permit but I see as KLMC have just announced that they’re looking to run a driver only test event in July:

I think we’re starting Mighty Mini year off at Croft on 11th July.
This situation is very quickly destroying the Motorsport industry, certainly there are some smaller rally prep companies whom I’m not sure will survive.

Re: All Motorsport canceled until at least 30th of June
We received an update regarding our VARA event three weeks ago:
"Good Morning , this is to notify you no one from our event at Buttonwillow 3
weeks ago became ill, and I will be shredding all Track and Trace cards
that were filled out as part of our requirements to be able to hold the event ,
this includes all Track and Trace cards of you the drivers , family and
staff that came in , once again a heartfelt thank you to all that came and took
part as the first sanctioned event in the Covid 19 world all eyes were on us."
Good news that no one got sick and I think this was due to the efforts by everyone involved. Hopefully, other events will have the same results but with more turn out. Cheers.

See as KLMC are intending to run their lockdown tests event on an autotest permit. Is anyone on here planning to have a go? Format and venue, a kart track, should certainly favour minis

I’m hoping to be there!
Did you see the post on Facebook where the police stopped an organised trials bike event at the weekend though?

In theory I’m racing Mighty Minis, but seemingly it’s the one series with no dates confirmed?? Quite disappointing really and may look to making mine more adaptable for other series as been rather left pit in the cold

Oulton Park Gold Cup is on, two historic saloon races on the Monday 31st August, I suspect that by then spectators might be allowed in. IF that’s the case I’ll try and put something on but I’ll be there anyway.

Hell fire, no doubting the demand for the event then! Look forward to seeing the line up - did you throw your hat into the ring?SMOKE GREY wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 6:57 pmcookie1071 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 11:09 am See as the entry for KLMCs Devils event filled within 8 minutes of entries going live!!

Re: All Motorsport canceled until at least 30th of June
I did, unfortunately I am back at work off furlough tomorrow and thought better of trying to book a day off two weeks after going back , they have been good with me, what with my sickness/illness earlier in the year and then covid.cookie1071 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 8:26 pmHell fire, no doubting the demand for the event then! Re: All Motorsport canceled until at least 30th of June
I think Martyn maybe a bit soft on them and keep it very open and simple. There’s apparently no 360s or reversing which, given the calibre of a lot of those drivers, I think is a bit of a shame.
Still - should get rid of a few cobwebs!
