I have an aftermarket I think chrome interior mirror and stem fitted to my early 63 car . Can anybody post up what the correct mirror and stem should look like , I assume it should be black . Need to replace the aftermarket one fitted but just unsure what I am looking for.
Thanks Roy

Should look like this, finished in black crackle paint. There seems to be two sizes of mirror available.

Beat me to it
Mine had a spring fixed after market wider mirror over the top. We switched it to a later plastic one for rallying.

When would this have changed , previous owner has fitted a aftermarket stem with a 3rd mounting screw so annoying . Did it go from this style to a 3 screw mounting and a plastic sucker on the stem ?

All the mirrors shared the three mounting screws, the change to the later style was Autumn '64.

I hope to go over tomorrow as part of my food trip. Its a few miles from home sorry Roy, so I've been being careful as we have a newborn in the family.

IF you can't get hold of anything else, I have this (from an old Minor) which might at least provide a reasonable clamp cheaply?
The stem and glass are probably no use to you - and the glass is a bit marked in any case. Just let me know on here or pm sometime if you need one. No hurry: I've had it for years!
