Just noticed that the fuel gauge on my 60 reads correctly but jumps to empty on switching on the lights, any ideas before I start to investigate?

Check the earth on the bolt on the tank strap on the boot floor . I’ve had odd issues due to a bad connection there . The fuel tank sender and the rear lights are both earthed together there.

My '60 used to do that, it was a dodgy panel light switch I think.

OK if the panel lights were off, even when the rest of the lights were on.

That's sorted, cheers Andrew, luckily I found a spare switch :)
