Can anyone tell me the difference between a 22G1832 box and the DAM3220 please?

Thanks - so on the basis I’ve knackered my case due an idler bearing failure, I’d be better off replacing the 1832 box with another rather than the DAM3220 by the sounds of it, as the box was only 1200 miles old I want to swap everything out and into a replacement case?Spider wrote:The DAM3220 is the next in series on from the 22G1832.
There are very similar and nearly all gears are the same, including the Idler Gear. The Main difference between them is the Layshaft and 1st Motion shaft, with the former having the 18 mm Bearing on the Nose and the 1st Motion Shaft to match, but they do have a weak Centre web over the Mainshaft Bearing. They were in production only for around a year.
Many thanks for that confirmation.Spider wrote:Yes, the 22G1832 would be easier to come by and is a better case. All your internals would swap straight over.
