Lucas WLR576 light glass sealing Q

My Lucas WLR576 ( Reversing Light on Bootlid) .. Q should there be a Water Seal Between the Glass lens & the Body of the Light ? .. my seal is long gone so the next Question .. is there a supplier of these seals?

ebay have some bits of round sponge strip that is supposed to act as this Glass lens to Lamp Body internal seal to keep the water out .. i cant think that Lucas would have such a thing installed from new.. Maybe i remember a round white formed soft rubber type disc seal as the Lucas OE fitment ?
