The Cadwell Formula Three race is 1969 according to formula 2.net and as the racing at Rufforth features both Ford Escorts and Formula Fords ( began in 1967 ) it is likely to be about the same time.
BRSCC - Two in September:-

From Ten-Tenths Motorsport forum:-
"All meetings there were on Saturdays. The circuit had to be built/marked out a couple of days before each meeting as it was a reserve RAF base then, though had no squadrons of planes based there. The paddock was a way away from the 'pits' and start line and a large van was used to carry the mechanics etc. to the start area before each race then back to the paddock after the race. Toilets and eating facilities were, err, basic."

Thats a great find Tim, the '67 one's been on Youtube for years but Ive never seen this! Great footage of Harry in HDK 443E before it got sold to Herve LeGuellec the following year! Whizzo grass cutting at Cadwell in KDK and Jonathan Buncombe in his white Mk2 S. Brilliant Tim!

HDK 443E at Rufforth in the film, and repainted in France. It got wrecked and reshelled a couple of times in France thereafter by all accounts. Harry did race it a few times in '69.

Is Bumcombe's white/black Mk2 the same car he ran at the Evening News Trophy race at Brand Hatch in 1969?

A friend, Bill Fox from California bought that car in 1970 from J.B. to race in SCCA races. I was there when it arrived...quite impressive but it was all downhill from there.
He finally got Richard Longman fly out to the US to " refloat the boat " and won the SCCA national championship in 1972 and even ran a Trans Am race.
I was 19 when the whole adventure started....so many stories!

As an aside Martin , you might be able to unpick something
When I was at school , we used to have a film show for motoring folk every month and films like this would appear regularly
The highlight was often if we got to watch a part of "The Shell History of Motor Racing" which was made by Bill Mason (Nick's dad). This was legendary at inspiring one with enthusiasm and if you ever want a binge watch , you can now get it through YouTube , blessed be the internet.
But , the best episodes have been blocked "(The Titans" later parts). These show Mercedes v Auto Union just before WW2 which was pretty epic stuff ending with a bit where (post war) they strapped Bill Mason + movie camera to the back of a Mercedes W125 for a colour on-car footage of a complete lap of Nürburgring with Hermann Lang. I assume this is political correctness about the Germans and I am saddened about the missing bits
Its a bit like The World at War in that it still rings true as a documentary now
Edit: I have just looked at another view of it on YouTube and found its copyrighted , so I have answered my own question....
