Identifying brake calipers Cooper or Cooper S?

Post by rolesyboy »

Hi. I have aquired a couple of sets of brake calipers, hubs, shafts etc which are either Cooper 7" or Cooper S 7.5". Can anybody tell me what part numbers I need to look for and where they can be found please? (Before you say it I don't have any 7 or 7.5 discs to measure- only hubs shafts calipers and drive flanges)

Cheers. Mark

For calipers, check the pad shape. For discs, check the design of the driving flange and CV spline size, even the hub nut size should do.

Sorry but I have nothing to compare them to for pad size etc. Anybody know where I will find the part numbers? I have found some on the caliper body but cannot seem to cross reference them. They are as follows:
3242813
BA21240
3242816 (or could be a 0)

Sorry but these are my best guesses as the numbers are ever so small and under 40 years of crap so bit difficulty to read. Cheers guys.

'S' calipers have 1.75" diameter pistons, the Cooper ones are smaller.........1.5" dia I think.

Very easy, shaft / splines / nut on Cooper, is the same size as std Mini, and S is MUCH bigger.
