oil pressure sender wiring

Im having troubles with the wiring of my oil pressure switch, and I can't think how to do it.

If the bulb has a negative supply to the bulb, that then runs to the to the oil pressure switch, that is grounded to the engine (positive earth). When the switch goes open circuit the it should turn the light off. But because the bulb holder has a positive supply to it (from the speedo) surely it will never go out?

Ive checked the oil pressure sender and that seems to be working fine (its new) but just can't think how to wire it up?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Matt

if its wired up correctly the oil preasure switch is just like an on off switch to earth or positive which ever way the cars earthed.

See the diagram 10 is the sw. 15 is the bulb

Cheers for that Iain, the wiring diagrams I have are both missing the oil warning light and sender for some reason. :?

Looks like ive missed the green wire out from the back of the fuel gauge to the bulb. Easy enough fix though!

Thanks for the offer but its all sorted now, I just added the wire from the fuel gauge to the bulb. Simple job as it had one of them double bullet connectors inline. :D

The light now comes on, will check tomorrow that it goes off when the engines started!
