hi,

I'm new on the forum, I have bought in the begin of the year a Austin Mini in Portugal.
This Mini is with the good numbers of chassis, engine. Smoke grey is the color.

More photo's you find here http://jalbum.net/a/1955329

Because I love the rally mini's and I do some rally's, I want to make it rally car, not extreme but with works dashboard, lights on the front, ...
No numbers on the doors, just nice car.

If there are some photo's of rally cars of this period, with this color, welcome :)
The most Mini's you see are always red/white.
Now I look first to the many topics on this forum 8-)

Cheers
Wesley

Love the M&S tyres! I will be fitting them to my 1071 as a nod to its rallying past.

Yes, great color combination especially with the classic steel wheels. Where did you find those tires?

Are these remolded tires?

That car looks lovely!!

In your shoes I would only make changes that can easily be changed back, and keep all the original parts ;-)

Tim's wheels look lovely too - just what my ex rally car needs ;-)

hi,

the tyres you find on https://austin-mini.fr/fr/

This year in Mini Mag you find this article, I love that mini. And it was/is a plan to make it the same, good wheels, works dash en lights on the grill. I do sometimes rally's with the car. But I keep my original seats in

Next question,

I did last summer some rally's, but sometimes the chrome trim is off.
I don't want to take hard glue. What is the advice to put it good on ? And not falling off when I do bad roads.

Cheers
Wesley

I use a product called “Blu Tack” a sticky reusable putty,
Push a small piece into the trim and then push back on to the lip of the car.

A bit of semi heavy duty double back carpet tape works just fine. Wrap a 1" long piece around the lip part at each end. Did both ends of mine years ago and it's still fine

first I put this behind the steering wheel. Later I can put it in the Works Dashboard.
I must study how to instal it, it's have 6 cable

Next step is look for Austin mudflaps
and a wintergrill cover. but how do you put this on ? I hope with some tyraps, I don't want to make holes in the Mini

What a lovely car!

"Smokegrey" used to run a very successful Smoke Grey rally car, hopefully he will post some pictures as inspiration.
