Hi Smoke,
A MK I S was seen at Copenhagen Historic GP 2009 ( not racing )
It had a heritage certificate, with info that said it was delivered to BMC comps Abingdon.
Registration JBL 494D. It was found in Sweden many years ago.

That' s interesting, was it not JBL493D or JMO969D. JBL494D was sold to Adrian Boyd at the finish of the 1967 Circuit of Ireland, and remained with the Boyd family untill the late seventies. My father bought the car back in 1987 still with it's superb works wiring loom, Makinen sumpguard with jacking points on, green logbook and irish papers. The car will hopefully be on the road again later this year

I cant remember 100%
(not getting younger
)
And I dont have the pictures anymore, as I send them to MCR mag ( think they were printet?)
The story was something about it being in a crash ? and left in Sweden by the works, and then a local BMC mechanic bought the car, and repaired it.
There is a Peter inhere who knows more, I will send him the link to this thread.

I think the supposed registration of that was JBL 495D - but there is no more 'works' about that car than my new slippers.

Could have been 495D ?? really cant remember, just took a picture of it.
Even if its just a paper, it would still fit in with around 95% of the other so called "works"

Hi Smoke and JC
The Color pic is from Rally to the Midnight Sun 9-14/6-1964 and S30578 is start nr. 153 Lennart Engelbreckt/Lars-Erik Olsson-Fillipstads MC in a Cooper 997 from the gr.1 851-1000cc class.
The Mini JC mentioned, is JBL 495D and my teori is that it is still in its original shell, but now converted to LHD.

I don't think so. He is sadly not around anymore - so I can't ask him. The car should have been a 997cc Cooper - with period "upgrades". As many others did at that time, the small Mk1 tail lights was replaced with the larger Mk2 ones - to make the car look new
BTW the car was red / black roof.
Regards
Kenneth
