Is it just me, or are there a few people selling what appear to be non-Vortz and non-minispares rosepetals?
Has someone found the minispares manufacturer and cut out the middleman?

Midland Wheel Supplies are selling their own brand "JBW" copies. I had a good look at a set at Himley last week were they were doing a set for £365.
I've not seen the Minispares items to compare but the JBW rosepetals are light and look round. However the finish seems rather poor, the black satin paint on the spokes must be about a micron thick and the polished rim will no doubt be corroded within a couple of months, indeed the display set were already tarnished after a short shower.. If they were £50 a wheel (probably cost £5 each from China) I'd buy a set and repaint them.

There's discussion on the MWS wheels here......

As Giff points out the concensus of opinion based on other wheels they produce is that they will most likely oxidise for fun, and yes they are much cheaper but I wouldn't want those issues at £80 odd quid a corner.
I know VW owners who buy their Empis and replace 'em after only a few years use but accept that as part of the pricing. You pays yer money, you takes your choice.
