Subframe Tower Bolt Sizes

Hi, Does anyone notice the sizes of the subframe tower bolts and studs are different?
Seems the wet subframe had smaller 5/16" unf bolts while the dry subframe had the 3/8" unf holes, which is the correct one for 65 S?
And the studs we get had two different sizes thread, obviously the 5/16" end is at top, 3/8" at bottom, any idea of the change point?
Thanks!
Al

Thanks! Nice link!
Well illustration but no sizes of bolts/studs mentioned, only part no. and changing history.
I think the bigger size is adopted for later model due to safe concern!

The way I read it all dry had 3/8 and all wet had 5/16, what wasnt clear was when studs were used and when bolts were used.
Surely a '65 S would have hydrolastic? So 5/16 and studs from other cars I've seen of that age?

I had always thought Morris was bolts and Austin studs but it might be a myth

On my 62 someone has made there own studs. Looks like they have used the longer head stud as the thread is the same as the holes in the subframe. then turned down the stud so you can put a 1/2 nut on the end.works a treat. I get a picture in a few days.
Plus it makes it easier to fit your subframe. Swiftune sell stud kits At around £50.

Cowley used studs and Longbridge bolts. Only non Cooper saloons were built at Cowley but you can get Austins with studs and Morris's with bolts.

Well, not really Mk1/2 era …
But anyone would know the exact change point ( year/month ) for Single bolt front subframe ? Jan 76? Earlier ?
Is there a suitable Leyland Parts List / AKD Manual covering this period ? Mine is AKD5306 Edition 1 but covers only early 70’s
Thanks!

FYI, My 63 Austin has studs and based on the chassis number and date of manufacture, it was built at Longbridge
