Rear Brake Cylinder ?s

Post by 62Countryman »

I removed one of my Rear Wheel Cylinders this weekend trying to figure out which one I should order from the UK. The cylinder doesn't have a Pin (I see the ones listed on various web sites having a Pin on the body of the cylinder). My car is a 62 Countryman Estate registered in January 1962. Which cylinder should I order from the UK? In addition, the cylinder was attached to the backplate using a thin washer and a c-clip (the clip is the type that has 2 holes and requires the use of a special type of pliers that will spread the clip for removal). Is this clip still available? In addition, can I also purchase a rebuild kid for the cylinder, if so, what is the correct part number? Is there any particular brand that I should order (I would like to stay away from parts made in China) and who should I order the part from?

The cylinders are Lockheed 4241-396 and the repair kits are SSB547, all of which I should have in stock. The clips are E clips.
