clutch problem!?!?

Hello,
I recently bought a 63 850 mini and it had been stood for 3 years and the clutch pedal was seized. I assumed it would be the master cylinder, so I replaced it along with a new hose and slave cylinder. After this I had throw but no engagement, so I decided it was stuck on the flywheel/backplate. So I bobed it off and stripped it (its the early spring type) it didn't look to bad but showed signs of being stuck ( I also prior to this tried starting It in gear trying to free it off but it wouldn't free off). Now I've put it back together and tried it and its still not engaging!!! The bloke I bought it assures me it was ok before it was put away but I can't be sure of this. My next option is to change the arm and plunger and release bearing as it does look slightly worn on the ball of the arm.
Can anyone else suggest something I'm missing? As its doing my head in!!!
