DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL

HI Guys
has anybody has any problems with thease seals ? i have just replaced one of mine with a so call'd " thats the only one thay do now mate" but im not sure . the 'OD and the ID are the same but the difference is on how wide it is .The old to the new is close on double the size to the new .can anybody advise on this
