Hello,

So I bought 2 spare hydro units, one of which will be fitted this week. Whilst my hydro system is deflated are there any other jobs i should do that need to be done whilst the car is down. One thing i would like to do is lower the car in the rear slightly. It looks really high. I heard you can do this by shaving a few mm off of the shaft between the displacer and trailing arm. What else should i do whilsts it is down? Also, is it worth buying a pump? I am not far from Caburn but I might have to pay for a tow truck plus paying for the labour to pump up my suspension i might just buy a pump. Anyone got one near Brighton? Cheers

Hi Daniel. speaking from experience I would buy a pump. You can pick the Liquid levers one up for £100, take your time doing the job, fanny around lowering/experimenting and if it doesn't go right first time you are not at the mercy of a garage and tow truck. You can always sell the pump at a later date. I would imagine that best ways a recovery/tow truck would cost £80-100 to get anywhere.
Other jobs worth considering are replacing the cups/dust covers and radius arm bearings.

Ok Mark, sounds like a plan. About the radius arm bearings. I have some funny toe in at the left rear. Could this be helped by worn bearings?

Jack the rear up and hold the wheel at 3 & 9 oclock. Move the wheel left and right. Then hold at 12 and 6 o clock and move the wheel up and down If you can see sideways movement at the radius arms replace the bearings or buy exchange arms. Cheers. Mark
