Under Bonnet Insulation

Can anyone post a photo of the original under bonnet insulation for a 1963 mk 1 cooper S. Im assuming it is glued as one piece to the underside of the bonnet
Any help appreciated.

The very first of that type don't have the depression for the Cooper air filter box - now they are super mega rare.

BMC engineering drawing for this part says its phenolic resin bonded fiberglass coated with neoprene paint.

Im trying to establish the thickness of the insulation .I would like to try and reproduce a close
copy. Any more photos would be a helpful..Ive found nothing in NZ to copy to date .Unless there is a nz forum member who can help?

Nominal thickness is 0.75" with thinner sections above the air box and under bonnet strengthening ribs.
A Mini enthusiast here in Australia reproduced a small quantity using similar but not the same material. I don't know if any more are in the pipeline.

Can anyone help me with some close up photos so i can have a go at reproducing the under bonnett insulation .This is the project i wish to add the finish detail too

Do you know what the 2 dropped sections are designed to clear ? The air cleaner is the back one Thanks again

Presume they line up with radiator cap and front corner of radiator itself.

Looking good, where did you get the buckle clip that is holding the heater hose to heater air intake trunk? I cannot find any that long. Cheers.

Thanks all for replying. Gray the clips I just made them Had an original profiled it and had them water cut out The ali is softer so you cannot work thm back and forward .But they do the job. Pity you are in uk as i still have a few laying around.
