Barbon Hillclimb 7th July

Post by billycooper »

I know Harewood's on the same day, but a small forum turnout this Saturday at Barbon, if anyone local is about come and say hi, its also British Championship day

GraemeC is entries secretary and myself and Nick are doing it in DJJ, along with Brian in his Red Mk1 6188PW (app k), Mike Garstang is bringing along his Red Mk 1 as well, not sure i've entered the right class looking at the entry list now, but at least we are all parked together (cheers Graeme :D )

ive done Barbon in various cars since 2000, and it nearly always rains, look's like this year it might just be a hot one !

all being well ill pop an entry in for next months Harewood after the event

I know quite a few folks who do Barbon on the Saturday & Harewood on the Sunday.

Too much for me though, I far too lazy.

I had to miss doing that due to work commitments unfortunately, the key to a quick time is that second corner, because you then get the run up the hill, I could hold it flat in the Mighty Mini, but that car was set up so well and of course only ran a standard Cooper engine.

Looking like it’ll be a cracking weekend - I think we could see some records broken.

Funnily enough Murph - my paddock plan was questioned as to why I’d left gaps. Hopefully you can get some shade under the trees

GUTTED
just rolled the cooper out of the garage for a spit and polish to take the daughter to the prom on Friday night and “kerchunk” from the inner bowels of the gearbox?
Eh? Tried to engage gear and it whent backwards then would go forward and then stop after 3 ft as the gearbox locked up...so goes (rolls) backwards and rolls forward a few feet and locks up. Gearbox fucked.
Brilliant  . Was really looking forward to Barbon and haven’t got the time to pull it apart for then. I have been thrashing the bejayzus out of the car virtually every night for the last couple of weeks on the local moorland roads, but I can’t beleive that I drove it in the garage and it broke when I rolled it out? I suppose I might be lucky in that respect.
Still effin gutted though.

As you know Rich that’s a daft statement...

She has to be able to start a car before she can drive it.

Having now sorted my car and had it out at Aintree last weekend I tried to enter Harewood on Sunday but the booking page was broken so now missed the cut. I did consider Barbon but there's a certain football match on at 3! :D Sooo... trying to get an entry for Loton Park next weekend instead.

Have a good 'un chaps at both events though!

You were too late for harewood Pete.

Entries usually close about a week before as they have to get the programs & stuff printed.
