Bo'ness revival Sept 2018

Post by mk1 »

Adam & I have stuck our entries for Bo'ness revival in today. We may be a bit late, but it's worth a try.

excellent! Fingers crossed you'll get in.

I'll be there at least one of the days to cheer you on, as I'm sure will Kev, Kenny etc.

Kev did talk about having a stand at the car show, but suspect that other factors have got in the way of that.

MCR will be having a stand over the course of the 2 days. Patricia has got someone to organise it...i can try and get details.

It was Paul who volunteered to look after the stand, I think there was 6 places and we had to get our names down and paid up ages ago.

I'll be there on the Sunday hopefully so I'll keep a look out for the Mk1 posse.

Hope it's a bit drier next weekend - by the looks of it the BTCC guys at Knockhill will be pitting for snorkels!

Though, weirdly, I live only a few miles from the circuit it's not TOO bad here, it's just the Knockhill weather field where it genuinely snows in July! :D It's probably a heat wave in Bo'ness!

Cooper register Scotland pitch is on the left of the showfield as you walk in from the house and trade stand area.

Link to my Pics, should be viewable outside facebook as well

I did see Mark but he was busy working on the car so didn't disturb him.

Really good day on the cooper register stand, whenever we were back at the car (not much) I got collared by interested parties so plenty of chin wagging was had, we also went in the main arena and despite the commentator going on about touring cars and the mini connection he totally missed quizzing me on my car, i swerved that one

Only broke down once, that same damn cylinder oiling up and killing the plug. Ah well a bespoke short motor to sit under the 8 port beckons :)

We had a cracking weekend. Met lots of folks, both ones I knew & new people. The car went really well, & Adam won the class both days having a really close ding dong with last years fastest Mini.

I guess Richspec must have been down mid Sunday morning when I was putting the passenger side back together after Adam hit the bails at the top of the hill, no real harm done, just a bent steering arm & destroyed wheel arch. The steering arm was sorted with a lot of tracking adjustment & the wheel arch is now made of gaffer tape. We couldn't have been so competitive in the afternoon if it wasn't for Iain helping us get the tracking sorted.

The track, although only short makes up for this by being very, very exciting indeed!

All in all a great weekend & we can't wait to go again next year.

It was late afternoon, you were attending to an oil seep and adjusting the alternator with the biggest pair of adjustables you had.

Really sorry to have missed you, yes, we did develop a bit of a leak over the weekend, someone who shall remain nameless missed out the fibre washer when they put the oil pressure gauge pipe back on :)

The position in the trees looks a good place to get some shots. I might make the trip next year as I had thought that photo ops were very limited due to the hay bails and overzealous marshalling.

Stu, the problem with the hay bails last year....... I was told it was a misunderstanding and large square bails were supplied rather than the small ones.
