i,ve been thinking about getting a front damper conversion for my hydro car. it all looks fairly straight forward to fit. the only problem i can see is fitting the dry bump stop as you cannot get to the back of the bolt without removing the displacer, which i REALLY don,t want to do. has anyone done this conversion?

just use either the std hydro ones, or the comp ones
both of which bolt to the top arm, all you have to do is drill the holes out to accept the larger shocker pins

Yep, easy. Get the comp bump stops. they are a huge improvement and dead easy to fit.

the only thing to watch with the comp ones is to make sure that the car isnt sat on them when its stationary (which it probably will at the rear is its lowered a little)
it can lead to 'interesting' handleing!

i thought the damper pin went through the bump stop hole in the upper arm.

my 58 year old brain takes a while to understand things these days. it's obvious now, you don,t have to use the dry bump stop. many thanks

Yes it does. You have to drill the hold out to 10mm I think.

dont let the car sit on the front bump stops either if it is lowered, they are progressive but the car handles strangly!
