Favourite Colour Combination?
I'm having my '64 Mk1 resprayed in the next few weeks...but I'm confused about which colour I should go for!
Here's what the car looked like until last week:
Originally thought I'd stay with red but I'm having all sorts of thoughts now! The car is primarily for use on track and race days and must be 'of the period'.
So, help me decide and tell me what are your favourite colour combinations are!

Re: Favourite Colour Combination?
One of my favourites is fiesta yellow.
My car was originally island blue, I think I will be taking it back to island blue but maybe with a black roof? You can never beat grey in my opinion. I love grey with red interior. Which you already have in there.

Love Fiesta Yellow but not sure if it's striking enough.
I like the idea of Island Blue and a black roof though I have to say, would be a little different. The car was originally Island Blue also.

I have never seen Island blue and black which is partly why I want to do it.

My favourite colours are, in no particular order;
Surf Blue / White
Almond Green / White
Tweed Grey / White
Smoke Grey / White
Fiesta Yellow / White
Quite like Red / black too, at least its not red & white (my least favourite colour combo.

Re: Favourite Colour Combination?
Favourite colour on a Mk 1 is Tartan Red and Black - but as car is originally Island Blue and I very much believe in keeping to the car's original colour I would go with Island Blue but with a Black roof (which is easily changed). There's a Sprint around in these colours, SBW something. Looks good to me.

Speedwell blue and a and a white roof... fiesta yellow and white is a nice combo though..
black is under-rated too, and would compliment your interior you already have and your rose petals..

Re: Favourite Colour Combination?
Would have to be Fiesta Yellow/OEW, biased of course !
Other great colour combo's for me are Tweed Grey/OEW and Surf Blue/OEW. Wuite like the idea of Tweed/Black though.
My Monotone Black Mk2 Cooper looks great.....when it's clean. Biggest problem is that it needs polishing every time it's washed to get the best from the colour.

Re: Favourite Colour Combination?
I love almost all the combinations...that's my problem!
Would also consider using a period non-Mini colour too. Something like the Aston Martin green on Paul McCartneys Mini:

Re: Favourite Colour Combination?
grey/black roof combo is a rubbish colour. Since I painted my car in this, my wife has left me, the dog has died, my business is bankrupt, my daughter has run off with a drug dealer and my son has admitted a predeliction for dogs. Whatismore, it's not an original 'S' combination - see Parnell's guide.
If you're going for a non original but period livery, go for all over Cherry Red

I'm also liking Mist Green, possibly with a black roof...

I think gold with black roof looks good, a la Norman Harvey on the 1965 Monte (3'16" on the video below).
