Use of 12' wheels in competition

Some time ago a question was asked about first use of 12" wheels in competition. This comment has just appeared on Facebook.

"John Cooper and Ginger Devlin with the Britax-Cooper team Mini of Gordon Spice at Thruxton in 1969. This was the first race using 12" wheels, Downton's Ray Shepherd attends to the car."
