Shelsley Classic Nostalgia July 22/23rd.

Post by Pete »

I've already entered this in my unfinished Mini as have a few others on here, and there's also a chance of a Mk1 Performance display space if we want it. I know Tim Carpenter and Goff will be going so there's two to start with,. Can't say enough good things about this event, great for camping, spectating, dining, drinking :D (bar opens til late), loads of great cars, just love it :

If anyone's interested in attending please speak up, most of us are competing on Sunday but if the weather's good I always go on Saturday for a nose about anyway and stay over, the onsite camping area is huge so no problems there.

Not been to this for a few years. Put me down for a spot on the Mk1 stand.

Nobody else fancy a great day out? No biggy if we can't get the numbers but need to organise a plot. If not you and Tim could just meet up and park together Goff.

I could be interested Pete. I'll have to check for car age restrictions. Could be a couple of others from down here as well.

I don't feel it's a North South thing, just that as we were fresh applicants we were bumped to the bottom of the pile.

Pretty galling though when I got confirmation that my application had been received in APRIL!

Bugger! I know they were oversubscribed as usual but you may have just missed the cut and if that's the case ask them if you're on the reserve list and where you are on it. Also worth asking if you can get a run on Saturday instead, which is usually less subscribed! If you can get on Saturday's entry maybe it'd be worth hanging about to pick up any spare slots for Sunday!

We are not even on the reserve list.

Well , just about got the car finished for this and it's gone and blown the headgasket between No.1 and the waterjacket. Happened on the rollers today. Working tomorrow so no chance to sort it before Shelsley.

Gutted. :|

Might make it down with the Unipower yet, just finding out. Yes the Gp A stuff is quite late for this event , maybe that's why?
