'See a huge selection of classic cars on display in the grounds of Valence School and enjoy a delightful day out talking to owners about the golden era of motoring. Don’t miss the chance to see some of the most amazing Pre 1975’s cars in the area.'

There is also a chance to run on an admittedly short section of the old Valence hillclimb, it costs just £20 to register and £5 per run. Although properly marshalled it isn't a competition so there is no need for Blue Book prepared cars, or safety gear. All donations go to raising funds for the school, and events like this are run by the Friends of Valence charity. It is on the outskirts of Westerham on the A25, so it's very easy to find from the M25.

Sad its reduced to this. On a suitable day on the full course a saloon could virtually straight line the esses, running well over the edge on the inside of all the corners and beat much faster stuff.

Me winning the 2000cc roadgoing class back in the day.

Love the Mk2, it's a shame they aren't so accessible today. Valence hasn't had anything running for years, so this short run is at least better than nothing.

Here's my contribution (sorry, not a Mk1), 1989, and lifting an 11" Minilite around the final hairpin:

PS Remind me why I decided it was such a great idea to sell that car after 20 years of ownership...!
