Roll Cage fitment problems

Post by WNX700H »

OK just been trying to put the rear section of the cage back in one of my cars after having had the shell restored. The car has had new floors front to rear and plates welded in the rear pockets for the cage feet to mount on.

I have the feet of the cage in the pockets but then as I try to pivot the cage rearwards the hoop pf the cage fouls the roof so you cant lift the legs into the upright position and get the rear legs on the wheel arches.

Any sensible suggestions / advice , have concluded that I need to cut 0.5 inches of the forward legs of the rear cage and reweld the foot plates in place.

Thanks

are the legs fouling on the sides, as you will need to (normally) ratchet strap the legs in to give you some wriggeling room.
please note, these are my own, individual sales, nothing whatsoever to do with my employer, minispares

Any chance of a couple of pictures? Cages "usually" go in OK as long as the legs are ratcheted in a touch.

The legs are pulled in so the feet sit on the lowest point on the floor angle ..... so I have no where to go really other than shorten the legs and reweld the feet .... not ideal I know but need the plating in the floor to meet the regs for cage mounting.
