ebay prices

i been watching a early chrome grill on ebay as i been looking for a slightly better one for my mk1.
but was shocked of how high it got

price is high, but it costs a lot of money to re-chrome something too... which is why original parts that are chromed and still in good condition command a high price. what is scary though, is that you cannot tell the condition of the chrome from the pictures or description, so I'm guessing it is not perfect.

i know,no close up on the grill, its the back which is the worth bit for rust,
i have 3 of these grills now, 1 is rusted badly, the other is too pitted for rechroming and so only good to be powder coated white, and the last one is good, chrome will come up good with time time polishing, and that only cost me £80 inc postage, i was quoted around £100-£120 to rechorome, its the amount of louvres they have to get into and polish, for the high cost,

i am tempeted to have my bumpers and grill nickel plated, its just at little bit differernt
