A contradiction in "the bible" & speedo ID

On page 30, "At the same time as the introduction of the voltage stabilizer......the SN prefix changing from 4479 to 4417 with this upgrade".

On the same page, in the table "Speedometer identification", right at the bottom..."the type SN4479 speedometer replaced the type SN4417 in September 1964"

Which one is it?

I have a speedometer labeled SN4417/00 in its center face, but marked to 130mph. It appears the SN4417/00 part does not belong with the 130mph part. Perhaps the center unit containing the odometer was replaced at some point?

This page http://www.somerford-mini.co.uk/pdfs/Ca ... 959-85.pdf shows SN4417/00 belonging to non cooper/S cars.

Thoughts?

I remember picking up on this some time ago, the bit right at the bottom of the page is wrong, it should read "the type SN4479 speedometer WAS replaced BY the type SN4417 in September 1964"
then it makes sense.

Thanks for the correction!

The next question is what should the SN number be on a '66 Cooper S 1275 130mph gauge?
