Dates announced and news of a Junior Cup - I think it's 1000cc minis built to a set spec with a kit from Minisport (Circa £6k).

I want to try to get to one of the events but my car is badly out of date regarding safety equipment. Don't know about the junior cup, ok I understand that it's less expensive if your not doing much tuning, but good minis aren't cheap to start with.

Mini Sport Junior Mini Cup Technical Regulations now available.
https://www.hrcr.co.uk/mini-sport-junio ... available/
"The Mini Sport Junior Mini Cup will be run as a class within the HRCR old STAGER Asphalt Historic Rally Championship aimed at encouraging young people into historic rallying.
Whilst drivers must be under 25 years of age on the 1st January 2017 to be eligible there will be no age limit for co-drivers. It will run over the 5 National B events on the UK mainland within the old STAGER Championship."
The winner of the Mini Sport Junior Mini Cup will receive the Mini Sport Junior Mini Trophy and a supported entry on a major UK Asphalt Rally in 2018.
The base for building a Junior Cup Mini is any 998cc Mini providing it has been registered before the 31.12.90 which is the cut-off date for historic category 4b vehicles. The car must be built using a mandatory safety preparation kit supplied by Mini Sport which includes a full bolt-in Safety Devices Roll Cage, Fire extinguishers, sump guard, front disc brake kit & master cut out switch. Depending on budget you can then purchase from Mini Sport various upgrade kits for the engine, transmission and suspension. Minilite Wheels and Yokohama control tyres are mandatory and must be purchased through Mini Sport.
The full technical specification and parts price list can be obtained either from Mini Sport or the HRCR using the contact details below. Competitors will need to join the HRCR before being able to order parts at the special discounts that Mini Sport are offering Junior Mini Cup competitors. This can be done online through the HRCR website or contacting the HRCR through
stage@hrcr.co.uk
For more information and a copy of the technical specification please contact either Simon Malins from the HRCR on 07785 308165, Rob Eastwood at Mini Sport on 01282 778731 or by e-mail to
stage@hrcr.co.uk

HRCR Championship launch day at Gaydon on Saturday 14th.
All being well I should be there to sign up (sadly too old for the junior championship though!).
Still a few things to do to the car first; like add mudflaps!

Just trying to lip read what Jim Brindle was saying to the interviewer in the video, it was probably something about the regs and contained quite a few f*cks!
Jim finished 2nd behind Clive King at weekend.

That'll be me... my first proper stage outing in CCC877D (build thread elsewhere on here). Engine misfiring slightly but otherwise survived the day.
I certainly wasn't challenging the experienced guys but I did get faster during the day. This is SS6 I think (11 secs slower than Clive on this one):

Edit:
Just found footage of Clive on the same stage:

He may be a superb driver (not to mention his 8 ports!) but at least I have a better camera

Its a pity the sounds so poor on Clive's footage, can't hear the 8 port scream
Maybe Minisports media people can sort that!
Yes yours is miles better Andy, maybe get the intercom linked in like you had at Blyton so we can hear Brian.?
Did you even blink once during the stage?

Didn't connect to the intercom Rich as Brian has a habit of swearing when I get it wrong and it looks like we're going to die.
I'd have needed to put an 18 certificate on the footage.
He's also from Penrith by the way Rich.

ray came to work on Friday to have some photos taken and let me take his car out for a spin
it goes really well, pulls from nothing and handles really nice.
