Hi..

A little story about my project inhere..

I´m working on a complete restoration on my 1071 mk1, and trying to bebuild it as original as possible.
in 2009 I got it to Denmark from the US, so it´s born left hand drive, OEW and black roof. And of course there´s a Herritage on the car..
The whole car came in boxes. so quite a job ahead assemble it again....
The body is now sandblasted, and im going to make a lot af bodywork on it with genuine parts..
Now i´m almost finish with a complete rebuild on the original 1071 engine and gearbox, also with genuine parts...

Hi....

It´s takes time and money to rebuild it like i want... People know what they want for NOS Parts ;) ... But i´m almost finish with the front now... pictures will come..

To nick:.. thanks.. I do have place at home, but been so lucky my parents in law got a big place where I could make a place of my while I rebuild the car... thinks it became great too... ( There was nothing.. just a big hole in the ground beside the walls)
Then then can use it for a garage while I´m finish ( Whenever that will be? ) :D

The project looks to be coming along well. Great work.
I'm just a little bit jealous mind you, I'd love to have a woodburner in my garage.
There'll be no excuses then when the weather turns cold.

Hello Rene
I'm interested as to what pistons you chose.
As you know I have an identical project.
Time and money is what I need but I'm having fun collecting all the bits.
Great job!
Regards Scott

Again like Scott, time and money are the big issue for my March '64' Surf Blue 1071. You have a fantastic set up and are really well organised. Keep us posted.

Tim.

Hi Masnarda
Things are on hold still with my 1071 I have a major money pinch but I still have a job :P
Like you,, liners were an after thought but very worthwhile so it will happen.
Saving also for a M Machine floor pan also an important must have.
I won't have the funds till May 11 then I would like to share some pictures.
Curious as to which pistons suit the best with the offset pin of a 1071 ?
I'm learning very much from this site. Thanks
Scott

The end of the crossmember is replaced, and filled with tin after welding it together.

Floor is on. after welding together, the most of the welding is grinded off, and tin is added.
