here is a link to a great set of period race shots which was posted on the nostalgia forum on the autosport site. )I know some here have already seen them)

compare the level of race prep between the black and red No. 118 car against current minis racing at Goodwood...... But don't ask the driver - he's avin' a fag!

Some lovely rare shots there, all in their 'Sunday best'. We're printing a number of these in the MCR mag, and some that aren't on there.

Red car no. 50 (B60 924) is Lennart Eliasson of Sweden i RAC 1964.

Mark, you have pic of the same car and driver in your gallery.

Yes, somebody's got to do a Rob Walker van Paul, maybe your next project ! ;)

Bet the van towed a few Sprints / shells in it's time. The racer on the back belonged to Corsley Garage's David Jolliffe, odd way round to hook up the trailer though !

Love the photo of John Fenning on the grid in the red/black 997, the car (Janspeed) looks almost brand new. Christabel Carlisle stuffed it up the arse though in that race (I think it was that race) though he was reversing out of the chicane when she hit him ! Fenning went on to form Willans in the mid 60's.

Bill Borrowman's car (white 997 on the grid) got well and truly folded later at Silverstone when he barrel rolled it, walked away though as so many seemed to do !
