Under floor covers 1960 shell

On the underside of the floor about 1/4 way back from the front it appears there were two covers, one on each side, these were approx. 8in X 2.5in and pop riveted on? I am going by the remaining pop rivets left in the floor but they would have run across the axis of the shell. anybody have any idea what they were for and better still a photo of said covers in place.............Thanks......Paul
